and two months ago, together with two
Spanish partners, we created a real-estate company of our
own. I would like to make, if you would allow me, a brief
comment of the good opportunities that my country offers and
the likely difficulties a foreign investor may run into.
I think it is important for the foreign
investor to get assistance from reliable professionals that
can provide adequate advice and do all the official
paperwork from the very beginning. It is also important that
when investment is made, it should be correctly declared to
avoid any difficulties when you decide to withdraw it.
There are numerous real-estate investment opportunities in
Bulgaria and they can pay off really well. Please allow me
to present the main areas that have attracted investors.
Sofia – a significant part of foreign investment over the
past few years is centred in Sofia. Prices have gone up of
late and are higher than the rest of the country – after all,
let us not forget that this is the capital city.
The coast – Hectic construction has been going on along the
entire Bulgarian Black Sea coast for some years now, but
everything is sold and every day there are more and more
interested people wanting to buy coastal property. The price
of flats varies between 50,000 and 60,000 Euros. We have to
note that the cost of living in Bulgaria is several times
lower than the European average. Buyers mainly come from the
U.K., Russia, Greece and Germany and more foreigners are
coming by the day.
Mid-population cities – this is an investment not be
overlooked. Forecasts say an increasing number of industries
will be installed in such cities because of the cheap
manpower. Real-estate prices are still relatively low.
Other areas – It is also heavily invested in flats and plots
adjacent to skiing tracks, in rural areas, spas, etc.
If you want more information or come to Sofia, do not
hesitate to contact me and I Hill be pleased to assist you
with my answers to the questions that may be of interest to
you.
