Winter sports - skiing |

Skiing is very popular in Bulgaria. The
season starts in December and ends in April.
Mount Vitosha just south of Sofia is the
most accessible from all skiing areas in Bulgaria, but the
biggest centre is Borovets, 70 km from Sofia which has the
Rila in the background, the largest mountain on the Balkan
Peninsula.

Pamporovo, situated in the
Rhodopes, is another popular destination among
tourists.
Bansko, situated in the Pirin, is
a less commercial centre and has a traditional
Bulgarian atmosphere.
